I think it did the shotgun really well. The shotgun and the devastator actually felt awesome to use.

And honestly, as much as regenerating health sucks, I like that at least you have to mess around with the world in a way that makes sense for Duke, in order to increase it. I mean most games nowadays would just use a generic RPG leveling system, but in DNF there was a surprising amount of work put into those Ego boost minigames.
