Do what you feel most comfortable with. I used mednafen personally, but if you want to use GENS by all means, as long as you are enjoying it there really is no wrong answer. I do however recommend using a retranslation patch though as I think it enhances the text for an overall more enjoyable experience. A downside though is that some characters get renamed so you have to kinda read between the lines when discussing the game. See pic related, the original localization the MC is named Chaz, but the retranslation I played he is named Rudy
