so I have this idea for my first map, a basic techbase that is being overrun by flesh tendrils, I decided to begin simple by giving thinking an outline the player will have to take before doing any detail at all, I don't have a clear concept of what would make fun gameplay so Im just trying to figure out interesting encounters.

You begin in the hexagon in the lower left, you take a shotgun from a dead sergeant and look at the end of the corridor, surprise asshole! there's an archvile there and the doors are locked with their respective keycards, you are low on ammo so you have no other option besides heading downstairs to the room on the right.
You try to put as much distance as you can while you take everything that isn't nailed to the floor, there are some low tier enemies on the way so you will have to deal with them or try to rush past them as best you can.

Now the conceit of the map would be gaining access to an armory somewhere where you can gear up properly, deal with the archie and enter the final battle in the big room up north, maybe that will be a hangar of some sort, but that's where my creative juice dries up for now.
