This is what dad did to the KV-M1400D and you can see that i just repeated what he did.
I also assembled the KV-M1420D and it works fine after all this tube removal and insertion effort.

Let me tell you the story behind the silver painting:

>Sharp VCR in silver
>small Aiwa Stereo amp in silver
>Sony KV-M1400D in black
I also had the same one in my room back then, but it disappeared in the recent years.

>not only does it look like shit
I dislike spray painting plastic in general.
