This for the more "realistic" games (but still very arcade-like, which I like).

Also Captain Tsubasa II and Kunio-kun soccer.

Wasn't that just a shameless reskin of Fifa 2002? I mean, I know FIFAs are just reskins each year with a few minor changes, but I believe 2005 on PS1 was really a literal reskin of 2002 with barely any changes.

Also, International Superstar Soccer/Winning Eleven were always better than shitty Fifa.

This was the only football game I played a lot back in the day. I never tried the SNES ISSS though, but I played Fifa (94 or 95) on the Megadrive and hated it, I also tried Fifa '98 on the PlayStation, great intro FMV, but the game itself, I didn't like at all.
I think Konami managed to make fun games like ISSS or Winning Eleven (if I'm not mistaken ISSS64 was basically a remix of Winning Eleven 4 or 5, but very similar gameplay-wise).
What I liked about ISSS/WE is that it was more arcadish and less simulation, Fifa always seemed dull to me.

I also liked Virtua Striker in the arcades, and Tecmo's Captain Tsubasa games (which are more like strategy RPGs than sports games).

By the way, I'm from Argentina and I loathe football.
