He got a graphical update.

I mean, it's not fantastic, especially compared to the Q3A model which was a direct recreation of his Quake 1 model with more detail, but it's not horrible- he's still only got very basic plate type armor over a leather vest and some bright red cargo pants, except now he's got a dick-cover too. The face still needs work though- but at least they didn't go with the design from the cinematic trailer which was just rubbish through and through.

At least it shows they're still working on his design, it's come a long way from the cinematic trailer with ape-man Ranger wearing Wrack's armor. Still a bit fancy for my liking- and the lack of the two strips holding his chestplate together that were in both Q1 and Q3 is kind of lame, as that was the only real detail on his original armor- but they're making progress.

>chat lines consist of almost nothing but generic SEMPER FI Marines stuff, one or two mentions of 'Quake's minions'

>Wrack is a 'shell-shocked Slipgate War veteran' who shows up out of nowhere
>chat lines involve wanting nailguns and axes instead of railguns and Gauntlets, and even include Chthon and the Old Ones, things that Ranger was the only person to have experienced (and lived, at least)

And then you have nu-Ranger who's apparently wearing Wrack's armor (black armor and the two-tone helmet is almost 1:1).

There's also Doomguy's similarly black clone Phobos, but that isn't quite as interesting as he doesn't reference Doom's events at all. There is, though:

He looks like a literal mongoloid in that closeup instead of someone who's just super pissed off.
