Honestly, given >>7877372 and the fact that Dread's flashback suit designs more closely resemble the originals, I wouldn't be surprised if Sakamoto pulls a Pokemon and relegates the remakes as an alternate universe, treating Aeion as new to the game's suit instead of a power Samus had access to previously.

A colorization ala Link's Awakening DX was rumored due to Nintendo's German magazine having a (mockup?) screenshot promoting the Game Boy Color, but nothing ever came of it and Dan Owsen denies it was ever a thing to his knowledge. (There was also a confirmed colorization of The Frog For Whom the Bell Tolls but that vanished as well.) Colorization ROM hacks do exist, however.
