Most of the old strategy guides were made by stitching together screenshots, and with incomplete information. Do you think there is a market for game guides of retro games made today? Or have websites essentially killed the desire for paper strategy guides?

Were you ever tricked by retro reviews?
Back in the old days I remember a review talking about Rampage for the NES and how you got to play as monsters and destroy cities all across America.
It was written like this was the funnest game ever.
There were no pictures or anything (save the title screen), so the beautiful word picture the author painted managed to trick me into buying a terrible game.

The nes book is super shitty. Not even worth pirating.
The only enjoyment I've gotten from the book is telling Pat that I pirated it and was sharing it with potential buyers for the LULz

You are better off reading retro gamer magazines or something like that. Those have people who actually care about the games.

Did you own any? Best? Worst?

An early example of a great guide was the NES guidebook. I remember reading it forward and back as a young lad.

Obviously the worst guidebook was the Final Fantasy IX brady guide.

I love the book by Pat Contri and Ian Ferguson. It is well written and a joy to read for gamers and non-gamers alike.

Also, Pat's shitty guide is shitty and Ian is still a pussy SJW cuck who scored tons of money because he's too retarded to not have a shitty diet.

A certain NES guide book is great for information on individual games and information on the stories of them.

I used to love reading through the old NES guides. The way they would describe the games was truly incredible. I mean, they made Rampage sound amazing.

So what are some good books that capture that feel? Pic related is not in any way related.

I love e-celebs!
I especially love Pat The NES Punk. I subscribe to his patreon and I listen to his podcast.
Pat is the best.
I even bought his Ultimate NES guidebook.
