I realize this is probably a no-brainer question.
I wanted to play some shmups on my old sony KV tv, so I turned it on it's side, and set it on top of a milk crate for ventilation.
I've read online that rotating a CRT is totally fine, and mine was indeed fine at first but after a couple of days I saw the left 20% (or top 20%) of the screen had a very strong purple tint.
I freaked the fuck out and rotated it back to normal, and now everything's back in working order, the purple tint is gone entirely.
When I rotate it again, the purple tint comes back. This is really bumming me out because I wanted to play some god damned shmups in portrait mode.
I've never had something like this happen before, what the hell am I experiencing here?
sorry for clogging your thread with stupid questions
