The Famicom RPGs are pretty cool, the SFC RPG (that is kind of a remake of the first 2 famicom ones) is pretty cool.
Super Butoden 2 is one of the most beloved games by fans and sold extremely well. Butoden 3 was rushed but it was also a good game at its core. buyuu retsuden on MD was pretty cool, Hyper Dimension was really good. Super Gokuden 1 and 2 are super interesting and cult in Japan, sadly ignored in the west as they never got localizations and there's only low quality fan translations.
DBZ Legends is pretty unique and soulful.
I really don't care for the 6th gen 3Dslop games. The only good 6th gen game was Advance Adventure, which is amazing.

Butoden 2 plays pretty well with turbo mode (and even without it, but it may seem a bit too slow for dbz), I just enjoy the big open stages and the split screen mechanic, and dashing with L and R. Gameplay is fun to me, maybe not capcom/snk tier but I do think the unique mechanics make it stand out and it's still much better than many other SF copycats of the era.
Story mode is full of beautiful spritework and a great atmosphere set with the BGM. The interactions are also a plus.
Its a beloved game for a reason, though it's ok if it's not your cup of tea.
Personally I prefer Butoden 2, 3, Buuyuu and HD over any 3D game released later. But it's just personal preference.
