there's nothing wrong with goldeneye or metroid prime controls, they're more like rail shooters but with the ability to move around and reposition yourself, all the enemies tend to do some flashy thing like roll before they attempt to take aim and fire, and it's on the player to take intitive in firing first; ala' James Bond 007

Goldeneye is the best example of a pleb filter, loading up splitscreen with knives or rockets or proximity mines only is a lot of fun
