>I wish there were more games like metroid prime.
Honestly, I think Metroid Prime is more the same family of games like Ultima Underworld, Riven, Portal, Half-Life 2, System Shock 2 and Thief.
First person, heavy focus on atmosphere, perhaps less action oriented than a standard fps (or no action at all), or more of an emphasis on exploration (give or take). Unreal's single-player, Goldeneye and Turok might be comparable, as well.

As far as Nintendo franchises go, the Prime series was no doubt heavily influenced by the N64 Zeldas. Specifically the temples. Prime just made the entire overwold a set of dungeons, while keeping the evocative and enigmatic nature of whatever area you're exploring. All of Prime 1's bosses are practically Zelda bosses and have obvious cycles and puzzle elements as opposed to the "shoot it until it dies" of the 2D Metroids.

So apparently you can Overclock your N64

It seems interesting, has anyone here done it? If so, how's it improved your games?
