Thought I'd ask here

There's a romhack to translate most of the japan metroid fusion rom to english

However the biggest point of using the japanese rom is to play hard mode that was added for the japan release, but you have to complete the game on normal to unlock it. How hard would it be to patch the game so that hard mode is available from a new save?
