I mean, your reply doesn't really add anything to the discussion, just you dismissing me with empty words such as "half-assed" despite I clearly posted an argument AND an example.
2D just wasn't hot during 5th gen and it shows.
It's fine to enjoy 5th gen stuff, I like my Saturn and my arcade ports on it, and I also love some exclusive 2D games, like Taromaru, but it still has the same issue regarding the sprites.
5th gen isn't where I'd look for primarily if I'm looking for the best 2D games.
It has some good adjacent titles, mostly sequels from 4th gen games, but most of the times I don't prefer these sequels to the earlier entries either.
