> SNES sprite limitations
hmm
> 32 8x8 tiles per scanline
> 128 OAM sprite slots of various render sizes
> 512 8x8 tiles in VRAM
> 4 available layers
> 8 available palettes
> 16 available colors
> horizontal and vertical flipping
> DMA directly to OAM table from 64kb of CPU RAM
seems pretty fuckin reasonable

> native scaling
> native rotation
> native transparency
> true 24bit color, 256 available (in most cases)
> DMA for all registers
> hblank interrupts with automatic copying
> dedicated division / multiplication registers (huge deal)
> native coprocessor interrupts and bus access
> 100% dedicated audio chip with (an astonishing for 1990) 8 sample channels
it more than makes up for it with its feature set, all of which would leave the PC engine / Genesis / other consoles choking
> but muh meguhhertz
bruh it's the features

in that case i would try try applying the hack patch first and FastROM second, order does matter, might work, might not. it might be alright with simpler hacks.

that's pretty cool but a SNES tech demo with a genesis song blaring in the background is absolute blasphemy. unacceptable >=|

> CD player over $300
No way, maybe for a good one, but you could get a standalone CD player for under $100 in the early 90s, or even a boombox with a CD or one of those combo stereo multi-CD disc changer speaker combo things for less than 300.
i had portable discman(s) in the mid/late 90s before MP3 players for like $40. trying to hold that shit still on the bus so you could listen to Goldfinger was the real challenge.
