I'll give that the game has less enemy variety, and a few frames of sprites animation missing.
That's about the only real criticism I can think of comparing this to Rondo of Blood.
Otherwsie, things like alternate levels and game design is up to subjective matters. Dracula X still has alternate levels though, but I think it's only 2 (compared to Rondo's 4).
However, Dracula X is designed more like the classic games, with more linear levels, and also lots of vertical platforming reminiscent of Castlevania III's level design. Rondo's level design is more based on exploration, which is fine, but which one is a better approach at design, is up to personal taste. Dracula X definitely is more similar to the NES games in that regard.
Anyway, Dracula X is good for people who want more of Rondo, since it practically controls the same, although item crashes work somewhat different, and there's no bible.

Thanks for proving me right with the use of ad-hominem and nintendo boogeymen.

You probably couldn't even get past the first level of Dracula X without abusing save states, lol.

>crisp detail

it's just bricks, Castlevania III's clocktower has much better backgrounds (and more detailed)
also, Dracula X backgrounds aren't muddy, what are you talking about?

"dracula X is a bad port of Rondo" is my favorite Castlevania fandom meme

Not him but Dracula X feels more like the NES Castlevanias in terms of controls and design, except it has some mechanics from Rondo like the item crash or backflip.

Also no playable Maria (although you can rescue her) so there's no easy mode.

The level design is harder from the get go, on the first level you've got medusa heads already.

You're good at baiting, I'll admit that.
But you're still a Youtube child!

I've played both versions (as I own the DXC on PSP and unlocked the original Rondo, I probably have played the original way more than the remake) and I think the original Rondo's Dracula is the easiest Dracula ever. I think I never lost to him. His 2nd form is ridiculously easy.

As >>2173050 said, the remake added his 3rd form which is actually very challenging to make up for his 2 easy first forms.

I agree, Maria is fun to play as, but she's easy mode.
By the way, Dracula X on SNES, besides being a totally different game, still has decent lenght. Levels are usually longer (and harder) than on Rondo, there's even secret levels (Stages 4' and 5').

Doesn't matter which one you play first, both tell the same story but the games themselves are different.
For the record, I think Stage 1's visuals and music is better on Dracula X, but the rest is so different that it's hard to compare, gotta play both of them.

Give Dracula X on the SNES another try. It's a different game than Rondo of Blood and is actually one of the hardest Classicvanias.

People have a hateboner for Dracula X because "waaah we didn't get Rondo of Blood in the west and instead we got the shit SNES port", but that's completely wrong and I hope someday people stop thinking so negatively about Dracula X because of that.
