Generally any box art created by the same person that drew SMB Deluxe's art. Forgot his name, but he is responsible for 90s Mario's design. Took Miyamoto's art and upgraded it. Worked on some anime beforehand?

Also, by the GameBoy Color era, Photoshop default effects came into play which resulted in outdated looking art. When the SNES/Genesis were around, even gradients were sometimes hand-painted.
