>how ?
I'm able to use my hands to build stuff and play games, and my brain just does what it wants.
I know, it's hard to believe.
>schematics ?
I know that if someone would attempt to build it after my schematics that he would scream after help because it doesn't work for him.
But the circuits that are currently inside aren't very optimal, i planned to improve it later.
It basically consists of an:
-DC converter (left board only) which takes 12-15V, 7805 regulates it to 5V and a NE555 turns it into AC (square ~4khz) and a little network of capacitors and diodes biases the positive peaks to ground which creates negative peaks, this gets rectified to -7-9V and gets regulated to -5V by a 7905 and it's weak. This fucking shit creates a lot of interference which is the reason why that voltage inverter is screened by that metal box. (that was the best i could come up with the stuff i had, just use 7805 and 7810 with a 15-20V supply)
-Sync stripper: LM1881 with an CVBS preamp+lowpass designed for /vr/ consoles.
-RGB clamp: This brings the black level of the RGB input to a specific voltage (important for SCART, VGA is already 0V). Which is 0V in this case, currently made a single bipolar transistor. (i want to replace it with analog CMOS switches)
-RGB preamp: Made of 2 bipolar transistors for each channel, the output goes to the resistor network. (i want to replace that with opamps)
-RGB->YUV network: A bunch of resistors that does the "conversion math".
-YUV amps: Connected to the output of the network, it outputs component.
I also want to add VGA support, power LEDs and improve the frequency characteristics.
>it's basically a transcoder?
I just described it for you.
>how's the quality?
