On the ZDoom forum, one lad suggested different attacks depending on your dash movement--forward attack delivers a powerful slice, side dash attack is a multiple-hit wide slash, etc.
Theory: Debuff main sword attacks (not by much, maybe 5 damage or so) but implement a counter of how many hits in a row you land. The more hits you land, the stronger the dash attack as a finisher?

I'm not fond of the idea of people being able to grab souls willy-nilly, especially since as >>2169996 said it would make the AoE attacks disgustingly powerful.

Heehhhh. I'm down with changing Iron Maiden's specials to be more punchy. The basic idea of the specials is to be more AoE compared to the fire's single strikes, but Iron Maiden doesn't really have that problem because its normal attacks are already AoE.

So let's say forward special is explosive punch, in air it becomes an explosive jump kick. Side specials are still the spin kicks, but enemies explode into gibs rather than get decapitated.
What would back special be? Still the same?

If I do a secondary character (IF), one thing I think might be good would be all the more technical things that people ask for.
Combo systems, DMC styles, more complicated weapon mechanics, a Jojo stand, etc. Hae-Lin would be good for instant-action style, but the secondary character would need to balance between choosing what style would be appropriate for an encounter, and then linking combos together?
