Way to go, Janny, deleting discussion about an actual dom mod in an attempt to carpet bomb the thread. Way to go.

Anyway.

Need a bit of help here.
I'm planning on making a mod with 4-5 weapons per slot. The idea is giving player at least one new weapon/spell/weapon upgrade in every level. Now, most of thwm would be straight upgrades, with last one being a sidegrade compared to the previous.

This obviously presents a few problems - namely ammo balancing, and the actual clusterfuck of having to cycle through so many weapons.

1) One of the methods to balance all the guns out would be ammo useage, but not the ven one, like one shot from Gun X wastes 2 rockets, or a revolver shot takes 4 pistol ammo., and more in the vein of "Same ammount of bullets gives Pistol A 400 shots, B - 350 shots, C - 70 shots and D - 180 shots"

To the player the ammo pool would be presented as a set of bars (Pistol Bullets, Rifle Rounds, Shotgun Shells, Explosives Packs, Energy Cells), and actuall numbers of remaining shots only shown when player equips a weapon (the bar of ammo this weapon uses changes color)

If you have any better ideas regarding this, please do tell.

2) The second issue is where main problem lies - I want to try and use a slot system, where player has 7-8 slots and can assign any weapon to any slot he likes, at any moment, providing he already had picked up this weapon before - I.e. he will carry all the guns he picked up without actual limit, but only few of them he can outright select at any time without some additional actions.

I'd like to get input of proficient people onto how one should go about such a system. Maybe it was implemented already somewhere I can loook at?
