This stuff was magic back then.

I was just thinking about the greatness of Neoragex. Lean and mean NRX was coded in assembly and I first ran it over a decade ago on a lowly Pentium 450MHz and it worked damn well (memory was still expensive so it took forever to load up a big game).

I recently set up NRX 5.2a, the lastest unofficial release from SNK-NeoFighters, and it's still a great program (and with gigs of memory the games load instantly) for it's bare metal coded efficiency and OG emulator cool.

Discovering emulation was almost a magical moment for me back in 1998. Playing every SNES game I like was awesome, but the real kicker was the Neo Geo emulation. A console I always adored but never got because of its horrendous game prices. I almost pissed my pants out of sheer delight. I didn't sleep for 2 days straight because I was so absorbed in playing KoF96 and Metal Slug (on a keyboard).

The NeoRAGEx gui still gives me massive nostalgia.

Neoragex: this was mindblowing stuff when it came out, and it's performance (due to being coded in ASM) allowed the emulation of Neo Geo games on amazingly low spec PCs.
