I dig the artstyle they used for this game's characters.
And let's not forget about the cute female cleric.

Anybody know why the undead in Severed Hand are immune to druid Wall of Moonlight, a spell which damages evil creatures and specifically does extra damage to evil undead? Don't tell me they're not evil, they're skeletons and orcs and shit. I'm playing a goof party of five specialist mages (invoker, necromancer, transmuter, conjurer, and enchanter) plus druid and I'm already pissed my transmuter has no good spells and my enchanter is useless for another dungeon.

How is Icewind Dale? I played baldur's gate 1 (pretty eh overall) and BG2 (one of the best rpgs ive ever played) so im interested in it but the difference between bg1 and 2 is so intense that im kinda on the fence about IWD

i know it has a fully player made party so there wont be the interaction that 2 had and benefited so heavily from but how is the area design and such? BG1 suffered alot from its weird pseudo open world design and odd way of handing out XP that made grinding a pretty good option since it was hard to tell where they wanted you to be at any given time, i think id actually prefer a more linear adventure with more thoughtful encounters overall

I know you start at a low level in IWD and low level infinity engine combats kind of a disaster but what level does it end up at? I assume it doesnt cap as low as BG1

i dunno i think id like it maybe but im also hoping its closer to BG2 then BG1 despite definitively being a more combat focused experience

Maybe you should play the first one first.
Those games are nothing like Torment (you should play Mask of the Betrayer if you look for something similar). It's just combat after combat with poor designed encounters. Weird how Black Isle made so different games.

Also IWD II uses 3rd edition so the rules are different, but it's not a really good implementation.
Don't be fooled by the beginning, it looks like an actual Black Isle game, but sadly the rest it's nothing like that.
I finished both games, the first one twice, and i can't remember shit of the story or anything. Just tons of slighty boring combat. The music was amazing though.
