Probably Langrisser. Only the first one was localized (on the Genesis under the title "Warsong), so you'll have to emulate it if you want the improved sequel. Langrisser 2 on the Megadrive and Der Langrisser on the SNES are kind of the same game, but not really. MD has better graphics and music, but the SNES has branching paths, where you can choose order, chaos, or independent.

Langrisser II, without a doubt, is my favorite 16bit tactical RPG. The SNES remake is called Der Langrisser.

Play on the Genesis if you want: Awesome FM synth music, SD-style graphics

Play on the SNES if you want: To join the bad guys and play an alternate campaign (hey, they are sympathetic)
