The funny thing is the apebeasts you encounter in Escape! are the same guards from Constantine's mansion, they just disguised themselves as humans, so it will be less obvious to Garrett that Constantine is actually a pagan.

I actually agree on this one. I would have loved to know more about the guards' relationship to Constantine. Were they involved with the pagans, or were they just hired guards?

They do have the exact same gear as the apebeasts, which could suggest that they're indeed apebeasts who have assumed human form.

Were Constantine's guards always apebeasts disguised as guards or did the Trickster turn them into apebeasts after Garret got the sword?
