Compared to most older fighters it has a pretty active scene, only KoF98 and Third Strike beat it I feel. the last big tournament I was at, Frosty's, for example had like thirty people crowded around the ST set ups. It's definitely not close to the level of a modern fighter but as far as old fighters go there is a scene.

Now getting good, that is different story.

Even with all it's bullshit I would say ST is probably still the most balanced competitively of all iterations, as sad as that sounds.
