Ah yes, Alpha 3, truly the pinnacle of good game design and balance.

The fact Dan, the literal joke character, isn't even bottom three never fails to amaze me. I like watching Alpha 3 fightcade sets but holy fuck is it a mess of a game. Fun to watch but I can't imagine why people would get invested enough to learn it.

It is still enjoyable in terms of casual play but competitively it hasn't aged well. There is still some brilliance to the game, you can write an essay on Ryu vs Guile matchup, but overall the game suffers from lacking improvements teh genre has had for decades now.

The Alpha series has its fans but they're so absurdly broken that in more recent years people kind of come to ignore them. They're fun but capcom just couldn't balance gameplay for the life of them with these ones.
