My friend and I have come back to this BG from Wet-Dry World quite a lot in conversation. There's a lot about that level that's mysterious and intriguing. Like a "lost civilization" kind of deal.

I wish a hi-res version of this existed.

I'd like a high-res version of Wet Dry World's skybox.

I never thought about it as a kid, but this game does have a mysterious quality to it. A lot of the levels feel lonely, like you're discovering and exploring places abandoned long ago. In the skybox you can see even more abandoned lands, lands not even you will touch. You never learn the purpose of these worlds, other than being used to hide stars. The game as a whole just feels very unusual from all this. I think it's nice.
