I figued this would be a good place to post this.

So yesterday I made something. It's not for sale but for me to personally play. This is a copy of Mother for Famicom that I paid a whopping $10 for. I have a buddy with an eeprom flasher, so I did what any self respecting person who can't read das moon did. I put the 25th Anniversary Faithful hack onto some eeproms and put it onto the Mother PCB and into the Mother case.

I now have an English translated Mother (with some improvements) On the original cartridge. I'm not a fucking animal and can solder properly, so the original roms were removed without any damage to the board or any cutting of traces. If I wanted to, I could easily desolder the eeproms and re-install the original chips. The only change from it's stock state would be new solder on the IC pins.

If I was doing this again, I would have positioned the kynar wire under the IC legs before soldering it to the board, as it was a major pain in the ass to route it under the legs. There was only one wire I had to be outside the legs with. It just couldn't fit while soldered in, but I would have been able to with the chip not soldered in. Anyway, I think it turned out decent.
