I have two problems with my 36' CRT.

The first problem probably has an easy solution. I noticed when loading up darkstalkers on my PS2 via component that for some reason the picture is pushed to the right, allowing me to see the end of the image on the left side as well as top right. See picture.

If I boot up melee on my wii through component I have no such issue. I'll post a follow up picture showing how the entire screen is nicely filled.

I went into my ps2 settings and played around with full size picture but eventually just settled for 4:3. I haven't tested this out with PS2 games because I'm scared of my second problem.

Problem #2 is that something strange is happening to my CRT. I was the anon who posted on here a week or so ago complaining that I couldn't get perfect geometry out of my crt, but I got some pretty good geometry after fiddling with the service menu.

After I saw the problem with darkstalkers I decided to boot up 240p test suite and see how my geometry looked. I was in shock when I saw that it was again completely messed around to the point where it looked as if I never touched the service menu.

I was confused by this but figured I would just try and shoot for another good looking grid. 30 minutes later and I accomplished satisfaction. The grid surprisingly looked a little better than what I accomplished weeks ago. I was happy, I saved my changes and then turned off my CRT.

Upon turning my CRT back on I was immediately concerned. The usual strong sound of my CRT degaussing was no more. I waited a minute or so and tried the powering on process again. It sounded like a sped up version of what I would normally hear.

I guess my question is did I somehow hurt my crt by going into the service menu and maybe changing a setting too much? I want to preserve this tv for as long as I can and I'm worried now that something terrible is happening to it. I'm scared by the weak degauss and self changing of its own geometry!
