Semi wasted potential, Raven software's spritework is phenomenal and atmosphere is great, but combat is way too limited followed by late game feeding you with constant dual mana spheres so you can endlessly spam your super weapon, and the worst of all is that mod community is just a single drop of sand when compared to doom modding.

>All the enemies feel bullet-spongey in that game
Damage spread on weapons is to blame, Raven were probably afraid to overdo it, so they made very conservative choices when it came to weapon stats.

I actually came up with the idea to get some fellow doom niggers together with modding/mapping skills and make a spiritual sequel to Heretic, with better weaponry but nearly identical playstyle and art. I just need to learn how to start modding and mapping.

I already started coming up with ideas.

I loved how each of the three games had various equivalents to one another.

>little flying imp monsters
>robed spell casters
>polymorph artifacts

and such

It's never implied there's more than one Chaos Sphere. Hexen and its cinematics refer to it as a single, powerful artifact used by the Riders. Judging on Hexen's ending it would seem likely that Eidolon returned to reclaim it sometime after Korax's death. I'm curious as to why Raven felt the need to introduce this object at all.

I know each game takes place on different planets but the Hexen 2 intro pretty much confirms each game is in the same universe/dimension. Just that each game takes place anywhere from hundreds to thousands of years apart, as the name Parthoris apparently has been forgotten to time.
