I really liked Wonder Boy IV, despite the fact it shoulda been called Wonder Girl and all. Or Wonder Shemale at the very least.

This game, this game is so fucking GOOD. It's like the lost sequel to elda 2, and it's got some serious Shantae Vibes.

Why doesn't anyone on /vr/ ever talk about it?

Currently on the first trial in the Snow Dessert.

H-Hi /vr/... I've just beat pic related and absolutely loved it, care to name moar stuff like this? The only similar game that comes to my mind is Ys3, but it lacks platforming imo.

RPG elements in platformers have always made me happy. Especially things like towns where you jump up to go from one floor of a house to the next, etc. The weird kind of sideways architecture appeals to me in an odd way. Specific examples that spring to mind, though only one of them is retro, are Monster World IV, Konjak's upcoming game The Iconoclasts, and Cave Story.

Can you recommend some other games with that kind of thing going on?

Obviously I'd prefer good ones.
