I use to see a lot of these Skater, Ski, and other "board riding" games back in 90s and early 2000s. Apparently from what I've been told from arcade owners, the machines used get beat to hell and needed repairs frequently on the board area where the player stands. Even Kids love to play on the machine even if they aren't playing the game. They just stand on the machine and move the mechanism and pretend.

Many of these board riding machines were made and sold around the world. But most arcade owners hated doing maintenance of them. So some just let the machines get abused and run down until it stops working. Then dispose of them rather than do repairs.

I guess that explains why I don't see these machines around much anymore. I can't remember the last time I saw a skateboard or ski game in arcades near me. When I see them for sale they always look so beat up. So Enjoy them if you ever see them!
