I generally only saved each time I got a key. I think the only time I broke that rule was on Map27, because there were like ten fucking archviles and I wasn't putting up with any more of their bullshit, so I saved each time I dropped one.

This is more or less how my Map28 run went. This was an isolated attempt before I reached the map just to see if it was possible, but I used the same strategy again because it worked.
