Play PS1 version. Seriously, it is a very polished port, and run mode is a godsend. I finished D1 with no-magic warrior on PSX this summer, gamepad with sticks appeared to be the ideal device for kiting on last 3 levels.

I like Diablo on PS1 because the auto-targeting for spells work well and you can pause to choose skills, which makes certain spells more useful.

It's also far more challenging than the original.

- Mobs have increased damage and are much harder to kill.
- Co-op friendly fire that you can't disable.
- Some bullshit item affixes toned down / completely removed.
