Because he understood how BASED Jesus is and the gift he gave you. Churches and denominations generally suck ass and just divide people. Read the bible (I'd suggest new testament first, Romans is BASED) and be sceptical of denominations, that's just people fucking it up and giving you their biased interpretation. Modern churches are by and large not christianity as was taught in the bible, they are just a social club with a lot of self help books mixed in with tons of sanctimonious hypocrites and cult like behavior.
