>TP explicitly credited young Link with saving Hyrule. They moved to punish Ganondorf, and drew pictures of Link fishing beast Ganon on the interior walls of the Arbiters Grounds.
>Hyrule Historia suggests it took further convincing from Zelda during Majora's Mask, and the sentence occurred years later, hence Ganondorf being older in the flashback (TP vaguely states something about him being found out and then cornered). Also, some of the Hero's treasures aren't from Ocarina of Time, or at least that game's Young Link. Texture is probably overthought like the carving on OoT Link's tree or SS Link in the 3D version.
>The horse was Talon's, as were all the horses of the ranch. Malon was a child.
Ok, I could've sworn there was a line about Malon's mother gifting Epona to her, but I checked the text dump and all she does is call Epona her "friend" and Ingo calls Epona one of his horses when he takes over the ranch. When you're right, you're right, and you're right about Epona. Still, giving away his daughter's favorite horse like that doesn't seem in-character for Talon unless he has a good reason.
