Here's the rundown of what's basically going to happen

First of all work is needed to get the thing done. This is where it'll mostly fail to get done because, if it is hard to get A1 sprites done for a single regular-sized monster, now imagine doing a big one, big enough to match the IoS, and now think about the rotations.

Now, let's say you got the sprites + code done. Put it in the game; enter the complains

>waaahh it's just a bullet sponge now
>waaahh it just got demoted to being a 'shoot at it until it dies' enemy
>waaahh this isn't compatible with my favorite combination of gameplay sodomization

And it'll be the same story if you either switch the IoS to become 3D walls or a voxel model; why? because everyone has their different vision of how things are in Doom.
