Seeing this game it'd be very easy to assume the Goonies had a sequel. Especially since the original game this was a sequel to was never localized and remained a Famicom exclusive. So there's no game based on the original movie on the NES. It's a very weird situation that even fooled me back in the day before I had seen the film. I just took for granted there must have been a Goonies II.

played it when I was little, a handful of years after the original movie came out. Pretty decent adventure platformer which let you loosely (no direct set path) save the goonies, collect items in these weird pseudo 3-d rooms, and figure out what the badly translated people are telling you what to do when they aren't giving them items. Also oddly rewards you with a candle in one room for beating the shit out of an old man 5 times in a row with your fist or a hammer. Pretty fucking brutal either way, Konami, you're a cold motherfucker.

On a further note, I have no idea why it even exists as a game though, considering a second goonies movie never happened.
