Sonic Adventure 2 is at its best when it's the only game you focus on for an elongated period and work on raising various second evo Chao that you think look cool while chipping away at the emblems you WANT to play, getting the benefits for your garden thanks to Black Market. Get the emblems you WANT, if at any time you are bored or frustrated dont fucking play that level again at all you don't have to. Don't go for 100%
For ultimate megakino play SA2B alongside Sonic Advance with Tiny Chao Garden and use Jewel Chao

I have played both games for hundreds of hours across various versions. Here are my ratings

SA1: 5/10 if you follow the above, 4/10 if not (if the game is considered as only Sonic levels 8/10)
SA2: 6/10, closer to a 7 than a 5
