Why don't you nerds just base the rule on the age of the game instead of the age of the system?

>You were the only person doing any of those things.
>Literally say multiple times people are free to play the game however they want with little worries regarding the meta due to the game's flexibility
>pushing a logically not existing way of playing the game onto others

Wew, so now telling people they're free to play how they want is telling them to play how I want and that's the only right way to play a game, and then you say that I'm the one with denial issues, this is getting better and better.

Feel free to have the last word, I'm not going to keep up with this nonsense any longer, I just hope this thread will be alive by tomorrow and have some actual discussion instead of poorly made semantic arguments and baseless finger pointing.

But how about abandoning the whole "Xth gen" garbage.

Generations are arbitrary. A few consoles were released in some multi-year period. There isn't a standard length of time of how long a "gen" lasts. It's periodization. It only reinforces the "NES is the only retro" perspective.

Jesus tapdancing christ on a pogo stick.

The 80s and 90s were so ridiculously diverse. Simply because things could be made swiftly and cheaply. But now...?
