Wew, so now telling people they're free to play how they want is telling them to play how I want and that's the only right way to play a game, and then you say that I'm the one with denial issues, this is getting better and better.

Feel free to have the last word, I'm not going to keep up with this nonsense any longer, I just hope this thread will be alive by tomorrow and have some actual discussion instead of poorly made semantic arguments and baseless finger pointing.

But how about abandoning the whole "Xth gen" garbage.

Generations are arbitrary. A few consoles were released in some multi-year period. There isn't a standard length of time of how long a "gen" lasts. It's periodization. It only reinforces the "NES is the only retro" perspective.
