Sure, whatever floats your boat. I guess whatever is "authentic" depends on what kind of set-up you had at the time (unless you're a larping zoomer as I suspect 95% of this board's population to be). In the gaming scene in the 90's it was pretty much a no-brainer for people who were invested in the hobby to rgb-mod their consoles, so I'm used to rgb-out and it doesn't strike me as "inauthentic". Also, European systems generally supported RGB out of the box, you just had to buy a garden variety scart-cable and that was that. At least I remember this being the case for the Super Nintendo. On the shit-stained flip-side, PAL games ran at 50Hz and with massive black bars on the top and bottom of the screen. So if you were a casual Eurofag in the 90's that's how you'd remember your games: Sluggish, stretched and with less screen real estate. Yes, that's how "the games were intended to be played" by the companies. That said, I don't know any people who were into the hobby back in the day who now yearn for this kind of "authenticity" - for enthusiasts in the 90's it's always been 60Hz and rgb or bust.

How to britbongs even live like?
It's Basically SUBHUMAN - The conversions

It literally repulses me thinking about playing my games vertically squashed and 17% slower than intended and convincing myself that it is better.

How come America didn't convert to the obviously superior PAL format? It would have suited retro games much better.
