maybe at a high level and for 2all? It seems to risky to lose powerups in the second loop.

For a 1 loop clear, which is about all i can manage in a psikyo game, you never need to purposefully lose your powerups (by colliding with an air enemy).

But yeah, you will see rank INSTANTLY change if you die or lose a powerup in the game, the bullets get slower and less frequent. Funnily enough this can be a problem if you are used to dodging a pattern at a particular rank.

It's a great game though - find your favorite plane and go to town.

It's more steampunkish but Giga Wing is great. Aforementioned Battle Garegga has its fans (i'm not one of them but I can see how the game appeals to a lot of people), Under Defeat is a more modern take on the helicopter shooter with lots of grungy diesel machines to blow up. Progear is a more fantastical steampunk game as well that's a bit too hard for me to enjoy.

this game is the infamous strikers 1945, a very excellent game that I 2all'd it and all its sequels in 7000 hours or less, just take me at my word on this (I can provide a stage 1 streamable on request). let's be real, they're great games and the german pilot is the hottest of the bunch.
