What was your favorite /vr/ game maker?

For me it's Capcom, no doubts.

>Mega Mans
>Street Fighter
>Resident Evil
>Breath of Fire
>Bionic Commando
>all the Disney games

Runners up would be Squaresoft for all the great RPGs and Konami for Contra, Castlevania, and Metal Gears.

I personally like X4 a lot just because of zero's mobility and sword slashing adds a coolness to the game's movement. I wish they experimented with ditching boss weapon = weakness and went with more boss weapon = new layer of depth to the character. Sure it's a bit castlevaniay but idk MM was just too entrenched in keeping the wrong things and changing the good things.

I tried reverse image search but to no avail. Can you tell me the game and the story context?

The Playstation 1 sound gets me every time. I sent that link to my friend. There was a pause on the headset, and then I hear over "My childhood!"

It's fascinating to me how certain things can still spark feelings that we had thought long forgotten.

What are some great JP only games that have English patches?
Preferably PS1 or SNES titles.

MML1 runs perfect on pSX.

MML2 also runs perfect BUT it locked up for me at one point in one of the last dungeons, the ice cave one. I had to finish the game in epsxe. Actually I think I just transferred the memorycard, beat that dungeon in epsxe, then finished the game back in pSX, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Yeah, OP, good luck with beating it; I couldn't either. I never found the time to, plus it's a very strange game mechanic to play a game where you essentially reset your monster.
I remember when I was a kid and my friend lost the instructions, so I started playing after he loaned it to me:
>Start the game
>Oh shit Agumon
>Get obsessed with extreme training and rack up hours of training
>Finally decide to fight outside the main zone
>Beat the drill-mon
>Agumon dies randomly
>AGUMON NO, WHAT DID I DO? WHAT THE FUCK?
>Thought the game in my childish angst was "stupid and broken"
6 years later I learned that's supposed to happen, and then I slapped myself repeatedly.
I can't get seem to get past the deeper forest whenever I come back to it, though.
