what is /vr/'s opinion on sigil? i dont post on this board ever but doom is my favourite game and the sigil wad is probably my favourite map pack ever. ultra-violence felt like it was perfectly balanced and never unfair nor too easy

Even if it wasn't released by a big name, I'd say in the short term at least it's interesting look into what the relatively new ZScript can do seeing how barebones the documentation is for it, and what we can learn from them.

How does /doom/ handle a new megawad they haven't gone through yet? Do you complete the whole lot in one go or do it over the span of a few days/nights? Because I'm trying to go through some and I just get burned out fairly easily, which is funny since there are other games I can play for longer periods.

Do you also go out of your way to look up on how to get to the secret maps?

Alright, so there's a whole bunch of ugly as fuck sprites, Q3 Doomguy sounds, the statusbar face somehow looks even more retarded, there's a bloated arsenal of weapons with right-click reloading, a bloated amount of inventory items, and for some reason 7 of 11 Australian servers found on Doomseeker use it.

It's not a very remarkable gameplay mod. So, what is its appeal in the Z& community?

I certainly don't have any elitism. Doom is good no matter what. I mean the BFG edition is slightly crap because of weird unnecessary censorship and audio weirdness. But it's still fuckin Doom.
