I'm sorry but DKC2 is actually pretty crappy in retrospect. The strange thing is I ADORED it as a kid and played the living fuck out of it. A few months ago I decided to go back to it and I just didn't like the gameplay at all. Imo it hasn't aged very well. It looks great, sure, and has the best music the SNES ever had (both of which go a long way into the makings of a good game) but the gameplay is just eh. It does have some really cool levels though, like the rail sections.

I played The Lion King recently as well. In my opinion it's a superior platformer to DKC2, based on its gameplay and challenge merits alone.
