FF8 is hard for lots of people to get, even myself in ways. I think this is probably due to the team coming off of their success with FF7 on high, and having tons of ideas an a newfound understanding of the Playstation and what they could do. FF8 feels like a party piece of experimentation much like FF9 feels like a pure and classic FF experience.

Still, you get the idea. I hate it when people shit on FFVIII because they abuse Zell's limits or spam GFs.

No. You just play it like a shithead. Hell, I have bona fide classes/jobs by the end of disc 2 by setting up junctions and GFs accordingly. The customization possibilities are astounding.
