So you're thinking more of earlier type platformers like Mitsume Ga Tooru or Panic Restaurant? I hadn't considered that honestly. I spend most of my time with 16-bit platformers so I don't really play the 8-bit ones that much anymore. I guess it's worth mentioning if you're going that route though that 8-bit Sonic (especially Sonic 1 GG/SMS) does have a little more platforming in it than the Genesis games.
