/vr/ - Retro Games

I would consider serious sam the first and second encounter retro because it technically runs on tech from 1999. Also looks like a 1998 game.

Hell any Windows 9x game before 2002 would be ok because they still looked blocky

I remember just playing this series because I thought that it was really cool that they did such a graphical update to their games in the HD collection.
Fell in love with them, even serious sam 2 (the first half has to be the lowest point in the series, the second, from the middle earth to the end, is probably the peak).

Id like to get the Everdrive 64 however Im not sure where to buy it from nor which version to get.

Retrogate seems good, are they the way to go in terms of buying?

Also is the 2.5 fine as I dont care about resetting to save nor games like pokemon stadium and will be mostly playing rareware/obscure/beta prototype games on this thing so V2.5 sounds better right?

I just wanna play duke nukem zero hour and prototype roms.
