Genuinely don't understand the appeal. I like *some* of Treasures other games but I genuinely don't get why everyone likes this one. Feels like people just pretending they like it to seem "cool". No challenge, boring concept, game is for fucking ants, annoying story constantly showing up.

I seriously tried to like it, I'm a huge Dreamcast shill so I feel like I'm really missing out by not enjoying it but I simply don't. What's the appeal?

This is the main one that comes to mind. The story isn't much, but it feels like a fun mecha show like Gunbuster. Just make sure you play the Dreamcast version since it has a good amount of improvements over the N64 version. Radiant Silvergun is also great, the story is definitely better, and it plays more like a traditional shmup, but I love Bangai-O so much.

Call their games gimmicky, sure, but as long as they're fun, effective, and challenging gimmicks, it's just as well.
