You look at the power/reset button, if it's round ones it's the newer models (I think) and if those weird elipses it's the older ones, or the other way around, I forget. Just read this: http://www.racketboy.com/retro/sega-saturn-swap-trick

If you want to play games from other regions you need to patch your iso to your saturn's region with the Saturn Region Patcher, just google it.

Either way, please let it be known that burned CD-R's stress the shit out of the laser, and it will somewhat deteriorate it over time to the point where it can no longer read anything. It also depends on the quality of the burned CDs, some people claim some brands don't even damage it, but I fucked my Saturn this way, so I don't know which ones are good, if any. From my biased and personal experience I wouldn't recommend it.
